Police arrested 18 people from Aurangabad district of Maharashtra for betting on IPL 2020 matches.
The police raided Rouza Baugh area of Aurangabad and nabbed 18 people including 8 women on the basis of tip off.
Items worth Rupees 5 Lakh were recovered from the spot.
Police framed charges under Gambling Act and stated “”They had deployed 42 mobile phones for the purpose. We have seized 52 mobile phones, laptops, cash”, reported Mumbai Mirror.
The accused were placing and accepting bets via online mobile application.
