Italian government announced that Italy would go into lockdown again starting from November 24, 2020 as the administration is struggling to contain the second wave of COVID-19.

Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte expressed concern over a strong reappearance of the corona virus across much of Western Europe due to which non-essential businesses have been asked to shut down again to curb the spreading of the virus.

The restrictions include the full closure of bars and restaurants until 6:00 pm on weekdays, and full closures on Sundays, reported CalvinAyre.

The casino and gambling industry which had already received a severe blow this year will again be pushed back to existential crisis if this lockdown comes into effect.

Italian gambling industry is facing a loss of 2.1 billion USD as a result of the latest lockdown measures and therefore Italian businesses are opposing this lockdown.
