In accordance with the new guidelines introduced by the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), three casinos at Vegas have imposed the mandatory mask wearing instructions for its employees.

The change in policy by SNHD comes as a preventive measure until the world has potent tool to combat the virus for good.

As per Gambling Insider, The SNHD said: “With the rise in cases and slowing vaccine rates in Clark County, the Health District’s recommendation to wear masks in crowded public settings, including grocery stores, malls, large events, and casinos, is a step to fully utilise the tools we have available to stop the pandemic.”

The casinos which have mandated mask wearing for its employees are The Venetian, the Palazzo and the Sands Expo & Convention Center.

Gambling Insider also reported that Las Vegas Councilwoman Michele Fiore felt the re-imposing of masks will “slow down progress.”

Fiore said: “I think it’s not going to be good for business, right now we have a shortage of staff. We have folks that are not going enjoy wanting to put a mask back on and I think they’re not going to want to go back to work.”

While casinos have mandated mask wearing for employees, The Venetian is planning to make available masks at front desks, Grazie desks and concierge desks for guests too.
