The government of Kazakhstan has blocked access to LinkedIn in the country.

The Govt. believes that Microsoft’s subsidiary LinkedIn stands in violation of the laws of the country that prohibit gambling and the advertisement for gambling. The Govt. stated that LinkedIn also had several fake accounts and it was allegedly displaying online casino advertisements.

The Ministry of Information and Social Development stated that it asked the company to look into the matter and remove the said content. However, the company failed to do so.

The officials in the country have stated that the access to the social media site will be restored if the company complies with laws and addresses the complaints posed by the govt.
