The Bill to legalize sports wagering and to authorize up to 10,000 video game terminals (VGT) in the Missouri state has reached a deadlock in the Senate.

The Bill which is known as Senate Bill 98, if passed, would allow Missouri’s 13 state casinos to offer sports wagering. It also seeks to permit up to 10,000 video game terminals (VGT).

The Bill seeks to establish the Missouri Video Lottery Control Act allowing the State Lottery Commission to issue VLT licenses to manufacturers, distributors, retailers and businesses.

The bill is also projected to bring in an estimated $200 million annually from taxes.

Several members of the Senate expressed their discontentment and disappointment on the said result. However, they are determined to lead the fight towards more regulated gaming environment in the state.
