Nagpur Local Crime Branch and Kondhali Police, in a joint operation arrested 36 people for gambling from a resort.
The alleged mastermind for the entire gang, Moreshwar Sorte was also arrested along with Mouda Sorte, who is an ex-Sarpanch and a close aid for a top political leader, reported Times of India.
The raiding team also seized Rupees 2.48 Lakh, 36 mobile phones and eight cars collectively worth 42.73 lakh.
The raid lasted several hours.
