A new set of regulations to govern the casino industry of Virginia were proposed recently. The regulations have been approved by the Virginia Lottery Board.

Once Governor Ralph Northam signs these regulations, they will become permanent. The new regulations are based on emergency casino regulations which received approval in February to build five large casinos across Virginia.

The approved legislation allowed developers to build five large casinos across Virginia.

As per Gambling Insider, Virginia Lottery Executive Director Kevin Hall said: “The Lottery’s Gaming Compliance Department and Office of General Counsel have been diligently working to set up the regulatory and licensing framework, to ensure casino gaming in Virginia is secure and transparent. In this role, we see the Lottery as the public’s watchdog.”

The four voter approved and proposed land-based casinos will be built and located in Bristol, Danville, Norfolk and Portsmouth.  The casino in Richmond is yet to receive voter approval.
