The Cordish Companies are expanding their brand of ‘Live!’ casinos and starting their first retail casino business in Pennsylvania.
The gaming market of the state continues to expand as this is the fifth satellite casino in Pennsylvania and has been placed at main commercial market.
Satellite casinos, which are formally called Category 4 casinos, are a unique feature of the expanded Pennsylvania gaming law passed in 2017. The law allowed the state’s existing casino licensees to bid on satellite locations of up to 750 slot machines and 30 table games.
Jon Cordish of The Cordish Companies stated: “As a family-owned business for over 100 years, today marks a special day for my family and The Cordish Companies, as we expand our Live! Casino brand into Pennsylvania for the first time”, reported Calvin Ayre.
Cordish believes it will lead to the creation of as many as 500 permanent jobs, $188 million to the local economy and $47.5 million in tax revenue, reported Calvin Ayre.
