This Thursday, a Bill was introduced in Ohio calling for gaming expansion and legalization of online and retail sports betting in the State.

The Bill was laid by, according to various reports, State Sen. Kirk Schuring (R-Canton), Chairman of the Ohio Senate Select Committee on Gaming laying the powerful plan for the same.

The hearings and discussion on the Bill started with two senators proposing amendments to the said bill.

Joint sponsors Sen. Nathan Manning and vice chair of the Ohio Senate Select Committee on Gaming, and senator Ninaj Artani, proposed amendments with respect li licenses.

It was proposed that casinos should also be permitted to apply for Class B sports betting licenses.

The unique Ohio model proposes two kinds of models- 20 Class A licenses and 20 Class B Licenses. The Class A license requires operators to create substantial Ohio presence and then they would be able to subcontract with various mobile apps such FanDuel or DraftKings, with no upper cap. Class B licenses, on the other hand, will be for brick-and-mortar sportsbooks that can offer prop bets.

State Sen. Kirk Schuring (R-Canton), chairman of the Ohio Senate Select Committee on Gaming had laid out the Bill and had made the statement as previously reported by the Indian Wire.
