Last Week, Virginia approved online and mobile sports betting market and with that approval, sportsbook FanDuel launched itself in the market.
There were 25 applicants for the Virginia Lottery including FanDuel and it got the approval. Reportedly, its partnership with Washington Football Team helped secure approval.
FanDuel is the only operator that got the approval to operate in Virginia as of now. The company tweeted about its launch but soon deleted the tweet pending the official announcement.
Gambling.com reported that in addition to FanDuel, the Virginia Lottery has posted approvals for Gaming Laboratories International LLC and Bulletproof Solutions Inc. for testing and for 27 approved vendors, including the parent company of Gambling.com.
Very soon, the other operators that might green signal to get launched in Virginian markets are BetMGM, DraftKings, PointsBet —among others.
