The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (PAGCOR) has announced of few changes in the Philippines gaming industry.

The authority has allowed licensed venues in the country to increase seating capacity at poker tables while ensuring the one-meter distance rule.

No concrete guidelines were provided by the PAGCOR but the social distancing rules, face mask and face shield requirements would continue to be implemented across the venues.

In order to ensure the compliance of the rules, the regulating authority has stated that there would be inspection of the gaming venues and the implementation of the guidelines would be followed.

In order to better comply with the new guidelines and ensure the physical distancing two tables would be connected into one larger table. Additionally, PAGCOR has allowed the venues to refurbish or redesign their poker rooms.

The country’s regulatory services are working to stabilize the gaming industry during the pandemic which included giving green signal to the bill on licensed Philippine offshore gaming operators (POGO) and their foreign workers.
