The casino proposal for the city of Kapolei , Island of Oahu has been approved by the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands (DHHL).

The legislative proposal has been moved keeping in consideration the budget shortfall owing to COVID-19.

The Hawaiian Homeland has been designated for commercial use.

According to World Casino News, the draft legislative proposal will be reviewed by the Department of the Attorney General, the Department of Budget & Finance and Democratic Governor David Ige for their consideration.

If approved by the Governor as a part of his packet, the legislation would then move to the Hawaii State Legislature for further consideration.

The draft proposal seeks to establish the Hawaii Gaming Commission, would be the governing body. The primary aim of the legislation is to reap revenue out of the lease and license agreements.
