A proposal has been presented by the Board of Directors at Scientific Games to acquire 19% equity interest at SciPlay Corporation.
If this acquisition is made, SciPlay will become wholly owned subsidiary of the Scientific Games as the company already owns 81% of the economic interest and 98% of the voting interest in SciPlay.
Scientific Games CEO and President, Barry L. Cottle, said in the letter: “significant operational, strategic and financial benefits, and drive shareholder value in excess of what each company could generate on a standalone basis.”
“We believe SciPlay public shareholders will benefit from increased trading liquidity as a result of being part of a pro forma entity with a market capitalisation of $7bn.”
The company intends to focus on digital markets and its expansion prospects to build engaging content and launch great games towards more fully cross-platforms.
