The Marina Bay Sands in Singapore had temporarily closed its operations after two of its employees had tested positive for COVID-19.

The operator carried out a deep cleaning process post the closure and now it has resumed operations starting 19 May 2021.

The other staff were quarantined after the news of other two employees being positive was confirmed. The Ministry of health had also started contact tracing process to find out the links that had come in contact with these employees.

As per Gambling Insider, the company released a statement and said: “The integrated resort is operating based on revised capacities and stricter Safe Management Measures across property till 13 June 2021, in support of the Government’s latest efforts. We are SG Clean and Bureau Veritas certified, demonstrating that we adhere to strict hygiene standards and rigorous sanitary protocols.”

Post opening up of the casino, the operator is planning to reduce the number of people allowed inside the venue and enforce stricter cleaning and social distancing measures. It is also planning to allow only two people per gaming table, and hotel rooms can only accommodate 2 guests in one room.
