Singapore’s mega-casino Marina Bay Sands has announced that it will be keeping its doors shut temporarily sine die as two of its workers have tested positive for COVID-19.
The casino has reported that the close contacts of the workers have been identified and have been placed under quarantine. Meanwhile, Ministry of health is also trying to identify people who might have had contact with the employees.
As per Gambling Insider, the operator issued the statement: “We will continue to be vigilant on all fronts, including stringent cleaning regimes, safe distancing measures across property, and regular Covid-19 testing of frontline staff. The rest of the property will be operating based on revised capacities and stricter measures across property till 13 June 2021, in support of the Government’s latest efforts.”
The scheduled date for re-opening of the casino has not been decided yet, as the place has to undergo deep cleaning.
