The Illinois Gaming Board confirmed last week that, PointsBet has filed an application to go live with its mobile sports betting option in Illinois. PointsBet intends to do so in partnership with Hawthorne Race Course.

The move comes ahead of National Football League (NFL) season which is going to start soon.

PointBet’s partnership with Hawthorne Race Course makes PointsBet the first operator in Illinois with a horse race partnership. PointsBet already has three off-track Bettings.

This would enable customers to place their wagers online and that too with four options at hand through mobile betting sports-book PointsBet.

US PointsBet CEO, Johnny Aitken, stated that, “What we wanted to design was a catchment. So if you headed north of Chicago, northwest, southwest or south, chances are you are going to drive past one of our four sportsbooks. With the weight of NBC behind us, we feel extremely confident about our position to win market access in any State we choose to enter”.

“We’re investing an amount where I actually think to achieve what we’ve achieved, we’re sort of ahead of where we thought we would be”, Aitken added.
