A US District Judge has ordered Station Casinos to negotiate with Culinary Union for employees at Red Rock Resort.

The federal court has ordered the Station Casinos to comply with Union norms because the casino operates at Red Rock Resort and at various other casino locations.

US District Judge, Gloria Navarro stated that company grossly violated labour law norms and asked the company not to threaten employees if they support the labour unions.

Allegedly, National Labor Relations Board felt that the operator was using pandemic as an excuse to deny the employees the benefits and had disregarded the unions.

The demand for representation by the unions was subsided by the operator earlier as well when the Culinary Union tried to gather a union.

As per Gambling Insider, Culinary Union Secretary Treasurer, Geoconda Argüello-Kline, said: “We are pleased with the federal court’s extraordinary and vindicating ruling in Favor of Red Rock Casino workers.  We commend Red Rock Casino workers for their courage and resilience in the face of the massive anti-union campaign that Station Casinos waged against their own employees and we look forward to negotiating and winning a union contract to protect workers.”

Station Casinos, however, maintained that it ‘firmly and respectfully’ disagrees with the decision of the court.
