Thailand’s national police helped bust and stop an illegal gambling ring by raiding the place and seizing about THB2bn ($66.5m) .
The operation “Shadow App” lead to arresting of 34 members of the illeal gambling ring which was conducted across 6 provinces of Pathum Thani, Ayutthaya, Saraburi, Chiang Mai, Chaiyaphum and Rayong.
The application known as Royal Slot 777 Casino was available for download from Google Play store and Apple Play Store and also had several thousand customers.
National Police chief Pol General Suwat Jangyodsuk said: “The suspects opened 133 bank accounts to transfer the money earned from the application, which offered various online gambling games. Officers also confiscated several items as evidence from the suspects’ bases of operation. This includes eight cars, 45 bank passbooks, cash and 54 mobile phones.”
