Advertising Standards Authority in United Kingdom has issued ruling against casino operator ElectraWorks Limited for violating responsible marketing code.

The Authority stated that the iGaming company allowed a paid-for Google search advertisement for its domain at FoxyGames.com to feature the tag line ‘Earn Money Online – Foxy Games – Play Online’. The same advertisement was to be displayed when the search term ‘make money online’ was used.

This, according to the regulator violated its marketing code on responsible promotions and advertisements.

The company, however, called it a human error and stated that it is taking all necessary steps to remove the said ‘socially irresponsible advertisement’.

The statement issued by the Advertising Standards Authority read as, “We considered the ‘earn money online’ claim suggested to consumers that the gambling system offered by the advertiser could be used to ‘earn’ money and therefore attain a regular source of income. We considered this had the effect of suggesting that gambling could be a way to achieve financial security”, reported World Casino News.
