Recently elected US President Joe Biden is facing furore and heavy criticism over his decision to withdraw US forces from Afghanistan ending the war on terror.

Thousands of Afghan citizens have been left out to dry with hundreds fleeing the country fearing Taliban rule. The impact of Taliban taking control of Afghanistan is feared to have worst impact on women and children.

While British Prime Minister Boris Johnson received backlash from parliamentarians over his handling of the situation, the US President is also being held responsible for the sudden collapse of political and social order in Afghanistan.

Several US citizens and Afghan citizens aiding US against the war on terror have also been stranded amidst the chaos while rest of the world and ‘powerful’ international organizations watch a humanitarian crisis unfold- silently- right before their eyes.

However, all this has not impacted Biden’s chances of competing his full term at the Presidential office before the next US election in 2024.

According to Gambling.com, Biden’s chances of completing the term are as high as 63% according to various betting websites. The popularity of the President sank rapidly to 50% after August 16, however the odds of him remaining in the office stood at 4/7 nonetheless.

Various experts noted that almost 49% Americans supported the withdrawal of the forces, however, the execution of the strategy has attracted the criticism, which could serve as a negative point for Biden in the future.
