AMD Navi 23

AMD and Nvidia have always been one another’s only rivals since eternity in the Graphics Processing Unit manufacturing. AMD Radeon’s latest graphics card 5700(and XT) offered some really impressive features and showed us what the 7nm RDNA architecture is capable of. However, AMD has still a long way to go before they really compete with the high-end Nvidia graphics card. But interestingly, this may change next year as reports are coming in stating Nvidia is prepping for Navi 23, a flagship GPU which is being referred to as ‘Nvidia Killer’.

As of now, the specifications of Navi 23 are still unclear, but if we are to believe rumours, Navi 23 will be based on RDNA 2.0 and 7nm process node with ray tracing support. RedGaming Tech’s source further claims that there’ll be two Navi GPU’s coming: Navi 21 and Navi 23.

If AMD is really bringing in an ‘Nvidia Killer’ with Navi 23, it will be really interesting to see if Navi 23 really dethrones the powerful 2080 Ti as we have seen in earlier attempts of AMD such as the Radeon R9 Fury X, Radeon RX Vega and Radeon VII failing to compete with NVIDIA’s high-end cards or even similar priced offerings.

Reports also suggest that the next-gen Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 consoles will also be based on a Navi 20 (or similar) GPU.
