Trump has made an executive decision which has been confirmed by reporters in LA that the US President is making moves on banning apps like WeChat and TikTok. WeChat is owned by Tencent which has a huge presence in the gaming industry and its ban may affect the gaming industry specially games such as PUBG. The executive seeks to ban WeChat in the US within 45 days, as it “automatically captures vast swaths of information from its users,” which “threatens to allow the Chinese Communist Party access to Americans’ personal and proprietary information”.
The decision yet not made but has been issued, and its impact is yet to be seen. Tencent being a full owner of Riot Games (Valorant, League of Legends), Funcon (Conan Exiles), etc might have issues on financial transactions.
