Discord Go Live feature

For those of you who aren’t aware of what discord really is, here’s just a brief introduction for you guys to get started:

Discord is an exclusive freeware VoIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) application, designed especially for the game streaming community. It allows you to share text, image, video and have voice conversations between users in a chat channel.”

Until now, ‘Discord’ had no feature available for live streaming. However, this seems to be changing on August 15th as Discord announced today a new feature ‘Go Live’ wherein users will now be able to stream up to 10 people including the user itself. Go Live will allow Discord users to broadcast their gameplay over a chat room in a server. Viewers will be able to see your gaming skills either through a browser or desktop app.

Stream to up to 10 people using Go Live

Go Live is an extended version of Discord’s ongoing screen sharing feature, which is available as part of the service’s private voice calls with an additional feature of streaming.

Go Live streams will be broadcasted to viewers at 720p but for Nitro Classic users there will be a 1080p option available too, while standard Nitro users will have the ability to stream at 4K.

Surely, streaming to just 10 people isn’t enough but it will be fun for those who just want their close people to see their gameplay instead of a large number of strangers.
