eFootBall-PES-2020

Earlier this year, Konami managed to include both ‘Football’ and ‘Soccer’ together by renaming its annual football feast of football ‘PES 2020’ to ‘eFootball PES 2020’. Konami just didn’t stop at this, they acquired exclusive team license of footballing giants such as   Manchester UnitedJuventus, Bayern Munich, Barcelona, Arsenal along with Argentine powerhouse Club Atlético River Platefurther acquiring Euro 2020 license. And all of this to take on the rivals ‘FIFA 20’ once and for all. The title finally launched on September 10th and was hugely appreciated by the fans for the improvements it had made in the gameplay and ball control features. However, Konami isn’t satisfied at just this as the first wave of updates is set to arrive by the end of October, hopefully sometime near the launch of the mobile version.

Konami received feedbacks from players in a post on their Facebook page, requesting the company to revert the gameplay to demo version since the demo was found to be better than the final version. However, this isn’t feasible as this would reintroduce all of the bugs that are already fixed. But the company surely has other plans in mind which might introduce the first major patch updates to the annual football feast. Let’s have a look at what Konami talked about in the blog post:

pes 2020 acquires license rights to EURO 2020

“As with the example above, many bugs were fixed in between the demo version and the final product. Thus, it would not be viable to revert the gameplay back to the demo version, because that would mean that all the bugs that were originally fixed would arise again.

We’re sorry if this sounds disheartening to some of you, but we wanted to make this clear to everyone.”

Konami has promised the following changes in the upcoming patch:

  1. Better player reaction to loose balls.

We will be improving how players react to loose balls, ensuring that they will do their best to try and gain possession. This will ensure exciting gameplay for 1 vs 1 duel in the sidelines or the battle for the ball in the penalty box.

2. Better positioning of the defense line and midfield line.

Some people pointed out that there was a gap between the defensive line and the midfield line, which allowed killer passes to reach the forward attackers with ease.

We noticed that this resulted in a fast-paced game since it was possible for the ball to reach the front lines with only a few passes. With the fix, it will become harder for the ball to reach the attackers, so constructing the play will be more important during matches. As a result, the pace of the game will come closer to reality.

It would be really interesting to see what new changes these patch notes bring and with FIFA 20 set to arrive on 27th September, the real battle will begin between the arch-rivals wherein these patches notes could offer an upper hand to Konami which obviously the company already had had in this version of the title since the very beginning.
