‘Efootball PES 2020’ isn’t just getting a new name for itself this season but also snatching exclusive team rights from FIFA. It seems like Konami is all set to take out FIFA once and for all. However, we will argue about that some other day as for today, the latest update that is coming in states that Konami has acquired another exclusive team license.

Argentine powerhouse Club Atlético River Plate is the most recent team to make it to the PES 2020 exclusive team list and it will be a real joy to play them against their arch-rivals Atlético Boca Juniors which was included in the exclusive list last year. With this addition, Atlético River Plate will be named as Núñez in FIFA 20 since PES has acquired all name, logo, kits, and stadium rights from FIFA.

PES’s name change seems to be proving a luck changer for Konami as they continue taking away big club licenses from FIFA and giving EA too much to worry about. However, EA was lucky enough to retain the Italian giant, Juventus FC but that too will be named as Piemonte Calcio after Konami signed a deal with Juventus. Furthermore, even the so considered GOAT Cristiano Ronaldo who featured in the cover of FIFA 19 will now be appearing on the front of the Juventus club edition of PES 2020.

For the first time in 25 years, FIFA won’t be featuring the name Juventus and with Konami ready with all guns loaded, it seems quite tensed for FIFA20 to stand against ‘eFootball PES 2020’. As of now, we can just wait until the game officially launches on September 10 and see for ourselves what the new name brings with it.
