The ‘Made in India’ game, FAU-G was launched in September 2020 is now live on Google Play Store for pre-registration. The game was supposed to release on October 2020 when it was first announced, at a time when government banned the popular first person shooter (FPS) game PUBG Mobile. In the end of October, nCore Games, which is the creator of FAU-G, released a trailer talking about its release in November.

The link on Google Play Store is only for pre-registration. Once registered, Google Play will notify users when the game is available. FAU-G stands for Fearless and United: Guards. It is a game which will pay tribute to the armed forces of India with a focus on soldiers posted at the nation’s borders.

According to November teaser, the first episode is based on ‘Galwan Valley’ clashes with China. Still the description does not mention the Galwan Valley incident as such. The description for the game says, “High up on the peaks at India’s northern border, an elite fighting group protects the nation’s pride and sovereignty. It is a daunting task, for the most courageous: The Fearless and United Guards. Join a special unit of FAU-G commandos on patrol in dangerous border territory. Come face-to-face with India’s enemies as you engage with hostile invaders on Indian soil.”

The description of the game says that it is based on real-world scenarios. Vishal Gondal, the co-founder of nCore Games and the CEO of fitness brand GoQII said in the month of September that FAU-G is not intended to compete with PUBG. He stated in an interview that FAU-G was actually in the pipeline and they were preparing for an October release. The ban on PUBG Mobile was coincidental.

The game was also announced on Twitter by Akshay Kumar. The actor stated in his tweet that 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to Bharat Ke Veer Trust fund. Gondal also said that the name FAU-G is the brainchild of actor Akshay Kumar.

On the other hand, PUBG Corporation has also announced efforts to bring back PUBG Mobile to India, with special focus on Indian market and a few features which will be available here. Still, PUBG Mobile will be allowed to run in India once the app is approved by the government.
