Final Fantasy 14 also known as Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a multiplayer online role-playing game. The game was launched in 2013 by Square Enix. It is the remake of the Final Fantasy 14 video game, that came in the year 2010. At the time of release, the game supported PS3 and PC, later it was released for PlayStation 4 in 2014. The game has had a number of content updates produced for it, including major expansion packs like Heavensward (2015), Stormblood (2017).

Fans have been very curious to know if the game will support next-generation gaming consoles like Play station 5. Naoki Yoshida, the producer of the game said in a fan event that he wants Final Fantasy 14 to be relaunched for PlayStation 5. Yoshida spoke at the Final Fantasy 14 Fan Gathering in London, where he said that the game is in development for PS5. The company said, “While not a confirmation, Yoshida-san expressed a hope that Final Fantasy XIV Online may one day appear on the next generation of Sony console.”

This means that PS4 support will end one day for Final Fantasy 14, in the same way, support ended for the PS3 version of the game. PS3 support for Final Fantasy 14 ended in June 2017, alongside the release of the Stormblood expansion, several years after the game released for PS4.
