Fortnite new harpoon gun

Fortnite Season 10 kicked off on August 1 and introduced the B.R.U.T.E. mech. But players didn’t seem to be happy with this new introduction and after many complaints, Epic Games, finally reviewed the B.R.U.T.E. Within just 5 days of its arrival, players were finding the B.R.U.T.E mech as requiring no skill at all and just an easy way to get kills and victory royales. Epic Games after much reconsideration, recently released Fortnite 10.10 update and made some major changes to the B.R.U.T.E mech wherein, players were equipped with a targeting laser hooked with directional audio. But it was no good as  Epic Game had to nerf the mech finally. After which, the mechs were reported to blowing themselves up. But Epic doesn’t seem to be learning from past mistakes as the company is currently facing rage from fans over cross-platform skill-based matchmaking. But now in an attempt to make things better, Epic Games is hearing out players’ concerns regarding the same.

In a blog post titled “Matchmaking, Bots, Controls, and the Combine Update,” Epic talked about the cross-platform issue. The developer wrote:

We’ve seen a lot of discussion about potentially unfair competitive advantages from pooling players together across platforms and input devices. The new matchmaking system, however, accounts for various skill levels across different platforms and control inputs, and groups players of similar skill levels together.

Our goal with the new matchmaking system is to create fairer matches for all of our players, which includes special considerations for each platform. This means that where similar skill exists, players may be paired against opponents from ALL platforms — whether they’re using mouse + keyboard, a controller, or touch input. We are closely monitoring match analytics and your feedback, and we’ll make adjustments to ensure everyone is playing a fair match.

Recently, Epic Games v10.40 update introduced a new matchmaking system and bots alongside many other features like removal of ‘Left trigger spamming.’ But it seems like Epic Games has once again messed up as fans are furious with the cross-platform matchmaking as it is automatically matching players up from different platforms. And since all these different platforms have different controls, players are really pissed off with this.

Coming onto the post, Epic is looking into the issue and we might expect a fix or nerf soon but Epic also says that the new cross-platform will benefit players as they are matched with similarly skilled players across all the platforms. With the season drawing closer we hope things get sorted out before we get to witness the Fortnite Season 11 adventure.
