Gamescom 2019 updates

Gamescom, one of the biggest video game conventions in the world is all set to kick-off for this year in Cologne, Germany on 20th August and the gaming industry is pretty excited about the event. Geoff Keighley (the creator of The Game Awards) will be hosting an Opening Night Live broadcast which is also the pre-Gamescom announcement event and will premiere the night before the show officially kicks off i.e., on August 19th. Many big names like Sony, Microsoft, Google and more will be present in the event with big announcements expected to come. According to Keighley, “We can expect new content from Activision, Bandai Namco, 2K, Bungie Capcom, EA, Epic Games, Google Stadia, Koch Media/Deep Silver, Private Division, Sega, Square Enix, Sony, THQ Nordic, Ubisoft and Xbox Game Studios. And those are just the ones we know about.”

We have already heard a lot of Hideo Kojima’s Death Stranding which is believed to be making an appearance on the stage. Death Stranding was recently removed from the PS4 exclusive list. Moreover, Sony won’t be any presentation as such but its show floor setup will feature first-party games like DreamsMediEvilConcrete Genie, and ReadySet Heroes and third-party titles like Final Fantasy 7 RemakeCall of Duty: Modern Warfare, Control, and Granblue Fantasy Versus.

We can expect big announcements coming from Microsoft and Google regarding the Xbox Project Scarlett and Stadia respectively. The show will go on for 2 hours wherein many new games and products will be unveiled.
