Just recently, this year’s highly anticipated title Gears 5 was launched on Xbox One, Windows 10 and Steam before early access for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers was made available on September 6. Gears 5 as we all know is a third-person shooter from The Coalition, the Xbox Game Studios team that was behind the success of Gears of War franchise. And now, as Forbes reports, Gear 5 has already dethroned Fortnite as the most played game on Xbox One and sits at the top spot above Fortnite and GTA V.
Fortnite has been dominating Xbox One’s most-played chart since the game was launched back in late 2017. But finally Gears 5 has successfully done what games like Red Dead Redemption 2, Call of Duty, Forza couldn’t do i.e., it has overtaken Fortnite as the most-played game on Xbox One.
Gears 5 even received a lot of praise from the audience as it is an excellent combination of perfect plot, enthralling scenery, and real-time gameplay further exploring innovative new takes on a classic. What’s even more interesting is the fact that even though long-time fans seem happy with what developer The Coalition has put out in the latest edition of Gears of War franchise, many people who weren’t fans of the franchise earlier have admitted to being amazed by the new Gears 5.
