This console generation, Samurai adventure Ghost of Tsushima becomes one of the fastest selling original IP of Sony.

On Twitter, PlayStation has announced that over the first three days worldwide the company has sold around more than 2.4m copies of the game.

As per the reports, Sony stated the game was now “PlayStation 4’s fastest selling first-party original IP debut”, which is a bit of a mouthful. In essence, it means Tsushima sold more at launch than other new PlayStation properties such as Horizon Zero Dawn, Days Gone and Dreams.

That claim won’t cover established PlayStation franchises such as The Last of Us, God of War, Uncharted or Knack.

In 1274, during the first Mongol invasion IGhost of Tsushima has been set in feudal Japan and has been following the  protagonist Jin Sakai, who is one of the last remaining samurai warriors, and in order to ward off the enemies it becomes a ghost fighter.

The performance of the game comes on the heels of Naughty Dog.  As per the reports last month it has also been revealed that The Last of Us Part II, which is a sequel to the 2013 original has sold more than 4 million copies in the three days of its launch, which had made it as one of the fastest-selling first party exclusive title for the PS4.
