Google Stadia was first announced to the general public back in June during the E3 2019. At the same event, Google’s Chief Executive, Sundar Pichai mentioned Stadia terming it as “a game platform for everyone.” Google launched the Stadia App on November 12th and on November 19th, Google launched the Stadia Consol.

With this Google is the first big company to launch next-gen consoles, with Microsoft Project Scarlett and Sony’s PlayStation 5 lined up for launch next year. Interestingly, Google has even sold out the premium pre-order bundle for Google Stadia, called the Founder’s Edition in Europe. The gaming console is a big hit and Google is always working on making it bigger. Stadia came with 12 games then Google added 10 more games making it a set of 22 games. Then today, Stadia announced that it is buying a gaming studio to develop games for Stadia. Stadia is adding Typhoon Studios in its company.

Typhoon Studios will launch their first game “Journey to the savage planet” in January, The game will not be Stadia Exclusive because it was under development even before the acquisition.

The studio was created by former EA employees. In the official announcement, VP of Stadia Games & Entertainment Jade Raymond said, “Under the leadership of its co-founders, Reid Schneider & Alex Hutchinson, Typhoon Studios has built an incredible team of industry veterans who are committed to the player experience. The Typhoon team will be joining our first Stadia Games and Entertainment studio that is based in Montreal and led by Sébastien Puel.”
