And now, the final day of the PAX West Event ended with a big surprise as Gearbox Publishing and Black Bird Interactive (BBI) announced Homeworld 3 for PC via crowdfunding.

The game is currently under pre-production and is speculated to release in 2022. It is being developed by Blackbird Interactive, also involved in the production of Homeworld: Remastered Collection and crowdfunded on Fig. Homeworld 3 is supposedly the sequel to the legendary space-faring RTS.  Currently, the game has already raised over $482,000 from 2,672 backers.

The developers said on Fig: “We’ve been craving the right opportunity to dive deep with a community in a way only crowdfunding offers. With Homeworld’s incredibly patient and thoughtful community, we’ve got exactly that opportunity”.
