PlayStation 5 will be accessible for players from PlayStation 4 console through Remote Play

A few days before the launch of their next-generation console, Sony announced that PlayStation 4 can act as remote screen for PlayStation 5. They stated in their blog that players would be able to access their PS5 from a PC or mobile device through Remote Play in the same way like PS4. The makers said that with PS5, players would be able to access PS5 from a PS4 console or another PS5 through Remote Play. The blog also added that PlayStation is going to update the Remote Play feature of PS4.

They said that in addition to being able to access PS4 from a PC or mobile device, PS4 can access other consoles through Remote Play as well right on the TV. This also includes the ability to connect and stream PS5 game to PS4 so that they can play it there.

They also mentioned that Remote Play would add support for up to three additional users to join the Remote Play session that allows gamers to enjoy local multiplayer games through Remote Play.

Sony announced that with Remote Play, users can play games on any Android smartphone or tablet running on Android 5.0 or higher and iPhone or iPad running on iOS 12.1 or higher and compatible PC or Mac.

The blog says that PS5 also expanded the concept of Parties to a dedicated hangout space for the player and 99 among his or her friends across PS4, PS5 and new PlayStation app for mobile devices.

The blog revealed that more than 99% of the 4,000 plus games available on PS4 would be playable on PS5. Also, select PS4 games would get to see increased loading speeds if played on PS5 and would also leverage Game Boost.
