Niantic’s famous mobile game Pokemon Go had a pretty amazing campaign until now as the first season ended on a high note. The first season offered some really exciting rewards and events, including the Water Festival 2019. Recently, Niantic even hinted at the possible arrival of the evil ‘Team Rocket’ alongside electric-type Rotom. Then, earlier this month a new Pokemon Go Stardust Blast Event went live on October 3. And now, Pokemon Go is getting online player battles mode, GO Battle League soon.

Currently, players can only battle other trainers locally. But the new GO Battle League will feature an online PvP system. Niantic’s announcement post said players “will be able to walk in order to earn entry into the Go Battle League,” meaning that it’ll be a combination of GPS-based elements and online elements.

No further details on the new feature aren’t available as of now but we know from the company’s blog post that the feature will arrive in “early 2020.” Moreover, online player battle is one of the most requested features for a long time and now, with the company’s latest announcement, it is surely something to wait for.
