Yikes! PS5 games may cost upto Rs 4999 in India. That’s exactly Rs 1000 more than the price of PS4 games in India. Even before, most people played the games on PS4 by using their friends’ discs. Now Sony’s antics might actually cost them instead as people would trade off game discs.
And we almost consider the PS5 Digital will have no market here, as game trading will take precedence. Xbox is buying off Bethesda. Hence, the Elder Scrolls 6 might not even release on PlayStation 5 at launch and that can sort of a detraction for many gamers. Sony’s anti-consumer decisions can also help Xbox keep the upper hand.
Twitter user @tdarj was able to preorder a copy of Demon Souls for Rs 4999. Hence it can be expected that the prices will surge. At a steep price point of Rs 4599, NBA 2k21 on PS5 will launch in India. Games that cost $ 50 might be a tad bit cheaper. Any price under Rs 4500 will still be acceptable at this point.
The PlayStation 5 is set to launch this November 19th in India, and on November 12th in the US, Canada, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Australia, and New Zealand.
