Apex Legends

It has only been a month since EA and Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale game Apex Legends launched and the game has already garnered more than 50 million users worldwide. The game was launched as a direct competition to the immensely popular PUBG and Fortnite and has managed to receive fairly robust reception from players.

As the numbers suggest, the game has been gaining players daily on a massive basis. The game reached 25 million players milestone after a week of it being launched. This followed the news that the free-to-play battle royale game amassed 10 million players in the first three days, and over one million players in less than eight hours.

Fortnite, which is the biggest Apex Legends rival, took almost 2 years of time to reach 200 million users worldwide.

Currently, Apex Legends is available to play on PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox, and PCs. Its biggest rivals, PUBG and Fortnite, on the other hand, are available for mobile gamers as well.

Although Apex Legends has been maintaining consecutive numbers on the board, it is still far from reaching 200 million players that Fortnite has, as per the November 2018 numbers by research firm Statista. PUBG is said to have amassed 20 million daily active users according to the research firm. You can read more to fix apex legends crashing.

Meanwhile, PUBG is taking steps in to curb the addiction from teenagers that the game allegedly incites. The development comes in the light of the government’s crackdown on youth gaming addiction “that has cast a cloud over the company’s biggest revenue source,” a media report said. Last year, the Chinese government had announced a number of controls over the games that can be played online and imposed several restrictions on underage players to reduce their screen time. The restrictions were imposed to curb the worsening near-sightedness among minors.
