Glen Schofield, the former vice president and general manager of Sledgehammer Games and Visceral Games, who was instrumental in creating Dead Space and co-directed multiple Call of Duty games, has been named the head of Striking Distance studio by PUBG Corporation and he will be creating an “original narrative” experience within the PUBG universe.

In his introductory video, Schofield says, “We’re working together to build the studio from the ground up so we can begin crafting an original narrative experience in the PUBG universe.”

“As a creator, the freedom to explore the PUBG universe has me excited about the possibilities which we view as beyond battle royale,” he adds.

It seems like the PUBG corporation has totally got its hands tied with developments for the game. For instance, just last week, it announced PUBG Lite, a lighter, toned-down version of the advanced PUBG for PC games. So there’s still time for the new PUBG game to arrive, and we can only wait to see if the game truly manages to make a difference.

This is also not the first time that PUBG Corp. is taking steps to expand the battle royale game’s universe. Earlier this year, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds creator Brenden Greene stepped away from the game’s studio, moving to a new research and development division under PUBG Corp.
