The fans of PUBG Mobile India have been waiting for the re-launch of the game any time in India. But, some reports have been proven wrong and there has been few information coming from the company, regarding when the game may be launched in India. Continuing on last week’s update where it was claimed that there has been no official intimation about clearing PUBG Mobile India for relaunch in the country and a fresh new report states that Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) is yet to respond to the request of the company for a meeting which seeks clearance for the game to operate in India.
The sources have also stated that promoters of PUBG Mobile are ready to comply with the norms of the government and now it is waiting for confirmation from MeitY for operating again in India. PUBG Mobile and PUBG Mobile Lite were banned in India in September 2020 because of its links with China. It happened because of PUBG Mobile being backed by Chinese technology giant Tencent gaming. After this, PUBG Corp has isolated the operations of the game in India from Tencent as their distribution partner and also set up the official Indian subsidiary, PUBG India by showing better intent for being operational again in India.
Reports also say that PUBG’s India officials have continuously requested ministry officials to agree for a meeting with the company because it hopes to alleviate any prior concerns of the game being associated to Chinese servers. It must be noted that Indian government is yet to issue clearance for any of the 267 banned Chinese apps for operating again in India. The reasons for this are concerns regarding Chinese infiltration of Indian cyber space, owing to which popular apps like TikTok, PUBG Mobile, AliExpress, CamScanner, Shareit and others have faced the axe so far.
