League of Legends completed 10 years this October. The game was launched in 2009 by Riot games. League of Legends is a multiplayer game that was launched for PC. In League of Legends, players assume the role of an unseen “summoner” that controls a “champion” with unique abilities and battle against a team of other players or computer-controlled champions. The goal is usually to destroy the opposing team’s “Nexus”, a structure that lies at the heart of a base protected by defensive structures, although other distinct game modes exist as well.
Riot Games recently announced a new publishing label within the company. The studio is calling it Riot Forge. The new label will collaborate with different developers form the world to create more games within the League of Legends universe. The FAQ page of Riot game says “We’re a player- and developer-focused publisher; our mission is to bring awesome new League of Legends games to players by partnering with experienced and talented developers from around the world.”
These third parties developers will get all the support from Riot Games. According to Riot Games, the studio will provide any support from QA, localization, voice-overs, research, and marketing to these developers. The new games form the League of Legends universe will be available for all platforms, be it consoles, PC or Mobiles. The games for Riot Forge are not gonna be available any time soon, the games are in early development.
