Microsoft’s very own AI Assistant Cortana is all set to be an integral part of the upcoming Halo TV series. Broadcasters have already announced Natascha McElhon (of Ronin and Californication fame) to be portraying both the legendary Cortana AI as well as Dr. Catherine Halsey, the creator of Spartan supersoldiers like Master Chief.  Furthermore, Emmy nominated Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) will be featured as Soren-066, a character who for the very first time appeared in a Halo short story called Pariah. The two will star opposite Pablo Schreiber (Orange is the New Black, American Gods) as Master Chief, or John-117, whose casting was announced back in April.

If we are to believe Showtime, they claim it to be its most “ambitious series ever” and is partnering up with 343 Industries and Stephen Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment to create it. The show will highlight the human/Covenant conflict central to the Halo trilogy. It’s set to debut in 2021 and is starting production in Budapest later this year.

However, the show doesn’t go into the production phase as of now, and it’s speculated to air at some point in the principal quarter of 2021. The new details demonstrate that Showtime truly is focused on the task, however, and that incorporates giving the star control you see in other prominent creations.
