The gaming industry is currently under a revolution or we might just say evolution. With major tech companies like Google, Microsoftand Sony slowly moving into cloud gaming and AR/VR gaming. Cloud, AR/VR gaming is going to be the new trend pretty soon. So the latest news that comes from the gaming industry is regarding a new ‘Half-life VR game’ which Valve unveiled on Thursday.

Valve dropped the trailer of the upcoming VR game. Almost two minutes long trailer of the game is fully action-packed.

According to Valve, Half-Life: Alyx is set between the events of Half-Life and Half-Life 2, and sees “Alyx Vance and her father Eli secretly mount the resistance to the brutal occupation of Earth by a mysterious alien race known as The Combine.”  You play as Alyx Vance–a major character from the previous games–rather than Gordon Freeman. While the Half-Life Chapter 2 had gravity guns, Half-Life Alyx will have Gravity Gloves.

Valve is releasing the game only for VR headsets. It supports the Valve index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift and Microsoft Mixed Reality, However, if you own a Valve index you will get the game for free. The game will be available from March 2020. The game is available for Pre-orders at Steam store

The minimum specifications to play the game on for a PC should be

  • OS: Windows 10
  • Processor: Core i5-7500 / Ryzen 5 1600
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: GTX 1060 / RX 580 – 6GB VRAM

The game will support room-scale, standing, or sitting play, and includes three movement options: teleportation, “shift” (which means you “smoothly zoom” between points), and regular analog stick walking and running.
