Among Us is an asymmetric online multiplayer “social deduction” game developed and published by InnerSloth. It recently blew up in the streaming community in 2020. That traction soon led to millions of people playing the game. It was released in 2018 on Steam and mobile platforms, IOS and Android.
Before the big hype, there were only around 400 people on average playing Among Us on Steam. Now, it’s a good 300k players playing the game on Steam itself. So is the game coming to consoles?
Personally, I do believe they’re planning on a console release of Among Us. We’ll reach out to them for more intel on that. The viable platforms for this game is the entire PlayStation and the Xbox series as well as the Nintendo Switch. Also considering that they dropped the sequel they were planning, it’s highly likely they’ll try to keep the entire player-base of the game in one place like it is.
Currently, Among Us is available on IOS and Android through their respective stores. And on PC through Steam. On Steam, it costs as much as lunch money, only Rs 199 in India and only $ 5 in the US. And on mobile devices, it’s free! There’s no reason to not buy it on Steam – you get cool outfits and pets through DLCs as well.
