The Thiruvananthapuram State government giving relief to COVID patients has changed the rule required for getting discharge from the hospital. Patients going under the COVID treatment in hospitals were earlier required to get their RT-PCR test result done in order to get discharged from a hospital but now they will only be required to get their antigen test done for the same purpose as ordered by the health department.
The result of the antigen test comes within 30 minutes which makes the process of discharging from hospital efficient for patients confirming their recovery. Earlier, the process was inconvenient and time consuming for patients as test results were delayed due to increasing COVID cases in the state.
