The indigenous COVID-19 vaccine developed by Bharat Biotech International of Hyderabad has successfully cleared its human trial test conducted by Nizam Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS). Two people have volunteered for the clinical trials at NIMS on Monday and both of their health was found stable after which they were discharged from the hospital by the doctors.

Dr C. Prabhakar Reddy, Principal Investigator and Assistant Professor of COVAXIN Clinical Trials of NIMS told that after 2 weeks, both the volunteers will be recalled for another test. Their blood samples will be examined to find to what extent the antibodies present in their body after vaccination has increased and whether they have experienced any side-effects or not. If they are found to be healthy, another dose of the drug will be given. Also, till then both of their health will be monitored daily.

The vaccines were found to be free from allergies or other diseases and doctors of the clinical and pharmacology department of NIMS have a sanguine outlook on the outcome of the vaccine.
