World Health Organization expressed that the United States leadership shall reconsider its decision of departure from the UN health agency.
Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus claimed that WHO has well recognized the U.S for both its generosity and support for global health projects in the past. He commented, “You cannot defeat this virus in a divided world”.
He added, “When I was a minister in Ethiopia, when HIV/AIDS was ravaging the whole continent of Africa. It’s the U.S. generosity and leadership that gave hope to individuals, gave hope to families and gave hope to nations”.
President Donald Trump has been repeatedly placing serious allegations on WHO for its poor response on coronavirus outbreak and for playing into the hands of Chinese narrative on the pandemic emergence. However, WHO has refused to accept the accusations and also has recently started a probe to investigate the role of China on the coronavirus outbreak in an attempt to reclaim its positive image which is globally under the attack of many countries.
