Xiaomi, the Chinese tech giant known well in India for its affordable smartphones is venturing into unknown territories. The company has announced the launch of a new anti-pollution mask in India. This new product from Xiaomi is called Mi AirPop PM 2.5 Anti-Pollution Mask and comes with a price tag of 249 for a pack of two.

The mask will go on sale on Xiaomi’s official website starting from today at 12:00 PM. Xiaomi took on Twitter to announce the availability of the anti-pollution mask.

The mask is made up of melt-blown non-woven material and has a one-size-for-all fit. It has double particle protection with 4 layers of filters. The primary filter blocks out large particles while the second filter Support Mesh provides a 3D structure to the mask. The third filter is Electrostatic Micro-Filtration Layer which helps in blocking the particles that are smaller than 0.3 μm in diameters. Water-Permeable Layer reduces the vapor buildup inside the mask and enables easy breathing. The mask also has a large vortex valve that quickly discharges warm air and vapor while blocking out pollutants.
