Wikipedia defines Common Service Centres (CSC) as physical facilities for delivering Government of India e-Services to rural and remote locations where availability of computers and Internet was negligible or mostly absent. CSCs are the predominant access points for delivery of essential public utility services, social welfare schemes, healthcare, financial, education and agriculture services, apart from host of B2C services to citizens in rural and remote areas of the country. It is a pan-India network catering to regional, geographic, linguistic and cultural diversity of the country, thus enabling the Government’s mandate of a socially, financially and digitally inclusive society.

The main purpose of these centers is to provide a physical facility for delivery of e-Services of the Government of India to the rural and remote locations.The CSC project facilitates citizens to avail various services like PAN, AADHAAR, Passport, Income Tax, Crop insurance etc.

CSC Guidelines offer a wide variety services which are listed below:

  • Agriculture Services (Agriculture, Horticulture, Sericulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Veterinary)
  • Education & Training Services (School, College, Vocational Education, Employment, etc.)
  • Health Services (Telemedicine, Health Check-ups, Medicines)

What is Digimail:

Digimail is a mailing service launched under the DIGITAL SEVA initiative by the Indian Government. Digimail, mailing service launched by CSC E-Governence. Now you guys must be thinking what is CSC. How to apply for Common Service Center (CSC) Online in India:

In order to Apply online for Common Service Centers CSC

  1. Applicant must be the citizen of India.
  2. (s)he must have a valid AADHAAR card.
  3. (s)he must have at least 150 sq. feet space, 1 personal computer / laptop, Internet connection.

Steps to Apply online for Common Service Centers CSC:

    1. Open the CSC Portal i.e. www.csc.gov.in
    2. Click on “Interested to become a CSC” on the left side of the page.
    3. Click on Link given ” For CSC Registration, Click Here”
    4. Enter the AADHAAR in required box.
    5. After that choose the authentication Option from IRIS/ Finger Print/ OTP, Click on “Proceed”.
    6. Click on Generate OTP
      (Personal details of the applicant will automatically get filled from AADHAAR data base.)
    7. Upload the Geo-tagged Image of Centers.

Application then undergoes a quality check process once it is submitted. Once the applications are accepted they further undergo an account creation process and after the creation of an account, credentials are shared with the user through Digimail. Digimail’s mailing service by CSC mails you your login credentials on the email address mentioned in your Aadhaar Card . This is a ‘No reply’ which provide you ID and password.
Using those credentials you can easily login into Digimail. On successful Login, you will see a confirmation mail either in your Inbox or Junk. Once logged in , you will be guided over to pin settings.
On clicking pin settings, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Now, you can create your 6 digit pin and complete the process. Your account has been created now!!

In case you Forgot your password and you need to reset your password, you need to first enter your Aadhaar No. A captcha then appears. On submission you will
be redirected to a new page. Here on the first tab you will see your digimail address and below it you see a Reset Gmail Password.

  1. Password must be of at least 8 characters.
  2. Password must have at least one capital and one small letter each, a number (0-9) and a special character(@#$%&*).

Digital Seva Connect is a secure authentication system for connecting our users to services available on Digital Seva portal. It is a facility available to various Service Access Provider (SAP) Portals to allow CSCs to login into their portals using their unique CSC ID / password combination defined under CSC Online Monitoring System.

What is VLE in digital Seva:

Village Level Entrepreneur (VLE) is a someone who works at the village level and delivers all the government and other private services to end user through the CSC. In case VLEs have any issue regarding CSE, they can register complaints through Digital Seva Portal.

    I am Barun Bikash Chakma, CSCS VLE, my location is Hnahva, Village – Hnahva, Block – West Phaileng, Dist – Mamit, Mizoram, Pin code 796431, My CSC VLE ID No. 737663640015, and my digimail ID is [email protected], and my CSC center name is BK Chakma. I cannot login my user ID and not getting any information from VLE bazar etc through my digimail.

    So, I hereby highly request to the concern higher authority to kindly activate again my user id and digimail id please.
