Google is always working on making Google Chrome better and better. Recently they added new UI for autofill in Google Chrome that is more convenient. The latest feature from Google is also really helpful, it will tell the users which website is slow. The feature will identify the slow website and mark a “Slow badge” on it.

According to the official blog of Google Chrome ” Speed has been one of Chrome’s core principles since the beginning – we’re constantly working to give users an experience that is instant as they browse the web. In the future, Chrome may identify sites that typically load fast or slow for users with clear badging”

In the initial stage, Google Chrome will identify websites with a number of Chrome surfaces, including the loading screen (splash screen), loading progress bar and context-menu for links  that could enable insight into typical site speeds so you’re aware before you navigate. Further, Google will decide a badge on the basis of a user’s device and network conditions.

Google also gave some tools that could help Chrome in improving the websites:

  • PageSpeed Insights, an online tool that shows speed field data for your site, alongside suggestions for common optimizations to improve it.
  • Lighthouse, a lab tool providing personalized advice on how to improve your website across performance and other best practices.

Google also invited developers to web.dev/fast where they will get the guides and codelabs on how to get pages loading instantly
