Google Groups getting a redesign with improved mobile site

Google Groups is getting a material design revamp which will be the default for all users from 15th September 2020.

Google has been testing this design for months. They announced on their blog site that this feature will be deployed and will be the default for everyone from 15th September.

New Groups has a more efficient and streamlined user interface, which makes it easier for users to create and manage groups. Google says they have added in three highly requested features which are

Labels will allow users to filter and search for messages in a group.

Using Groups as a Collaborative Inbox can be useful if you want to use a group as a mailing list for a team, where different team members can see, manage, and respond to messages sent to the group. t will also feature quick filters to make conversation searching easy.

Existing collaborative inboxes will be accessible in the new Groups experience. New and existing groups can be changed to a Collaborative Inbox via group settings.
This new update will be available to all G Suite users. Google is also planning to remove the classic Groups completely in the near future. They will shift all users to the new Groups till then.
